The Chartres Cathedral in France, a magnificently preserved Gothic Cathedral, emanates the energy of Community Gathering, devotion to the Sacred Feminine, Pilgrimage, Regeneration and Progress in Awakening. The current structure was dedicated to the Virgin Mary and completed in 1260, with its first two versions destroyed by fire in previous centuries. The church has a cloth in its possession that is said to be part of a robe worn by Mary when she gave birth to Christ which miraculously survived all of the fires. From the past to present day, Chartres has been a pilgrimage location where many come to hear the timeless words of the old Mass. The church is filled with many elaborate symbols and scenarios that researchers have long tried to decode to understand clues to other Christian treasures. For example some have found signs at Chartres to support the idea that the Ark of the Covenant was taken to Ethiopia many years ago.
