Stone Circles
Many megalithic stone sites lie scattered throughout England, Scotland, Ireland and France.
“A stone circle called Castlerigg lies deep within the Lake District of
England, an area of breath-taking natural beauty. Far into the
countryside, it was not easy to find. Once there, I spent most of the
day relaxing and in gratitude for all that had led me safely to this
ancient site. A few hang gliders, were visible on the surrounding
hills, and a tour guide led a patch of tourists through the stones. I
overheard him suggesting that the idea of using these sites along ley
lines to communicate with others was a preposterous notion because it
implied advanced technologies were possible with ancient peoples. It
felt laughably arrogant for him to claim such lack of refinement from
our ancestors. Our modern science cannot satisfactorily explain how
these circles were constructed nor how every single stone circle IS
along a ley line.
"I feel certain that an astounding revelation for all of us is hidden deep
within the memories of the standing stones. For now, the mystery
remains unsolved, and the answers seem to lie in the realm of feeling
and perception, not facts and logic. Clues are revealed to seekers,
and I have noticed a great expansion in my dreams after moving this
piece near where I sleep.”

The Stone Circle at Avebury
"I arrived at Avebury late at night and exhausted after an arduous day of driving through unaccustomed roundabouts and the unnerving necessity to do it all on the left hand side of the road. It was completely dark and there were no rooms available. I had no choice but to sleep in my car and promise myself to plan ahead better next time. Needless to say, I slept poorly and I was up before sunrise which was very unusual for me. I had to acknowledge the perfection of my circumstance. If I had been able to rent a room, I most certainly would have been sleeping in instead of experiencing Avebury at dawn.
"Right out of legend, the path led me into a thick mist that enveloped the site; I could only see one of the stones at a time. An owl hooted once in the distance as if to announce the transition of night to day. As the sun rose, the mist gradually dispersed to the cooing sound of doves and revealed not only the hundreds of stones across the landscape but a herd of sheep casually awakening too. Most of the standing stones were rough-hewn but occasionally, and in no order I could detect, there were very precisely carved marker stones as well.
"The wind swept across the plain in whispering disregard for the myriad of questions I had for the ancient peoples who built this site. The answers seemed to come later, as I relaxed and stopped trying so hard. Notes of harmony from Nature replied to my request for more information. Feelings of trained voices and various chords of music from adept initiates of long ago gave me hint as to how these stones were set in place and made. A reflection of a forgotten sound technology tickled my awareness and a peaceful feeling that all will be revealed in its perfect timing calmed my searching mind for the moment.
"My paintings below are from the photographs I took that day, created in my studio afterwards with the intent to create portals of understanding and awakening to all who view."
