Sacred Site Paintings of Machu Picchu
Intihuatana from the East

Intihuatana from the East

painted view of sacred symbol at Machu Picchu

The photograph below of Susan Tower painting at Machu Piccu is while she is creating this piece. Check out the 'window' of light that is on the top left of the photo.  Standing across the sacred valley and looking up to central marker stone of this sacred site, the top of Intihuatana (the Inkan name which means, ‘hitching post to the sun’) is visible. This perspective shows the terraces which capture sound and create an astounding amphitheater. Although the distance is easily that of across a football field, it is easy to hear every word said in casual conversation across the distance.

Temple of Three Windows

Temple of Three Windows

painting of The Temple of 3 Windows, Machu Piccu

A herd of llamas meandered through the scene as visionary artist Susan Tower painted en plein air (on-site). The sacred symbol above the temple represents a trinity of awareness: the higher-self, the conscious mind, and the sub-conscious. Notice the trapezoid shape of the windows: this shape is mirrored throughout the buildings’ walls and in many other ancient stone structures in the region. It is thought to be shock absorbing to the frequent earthquakes – indeed, very little damage has occurred to these sacred sites despite the unknown amount of centuries through which they have stood.

Ancient Passage

Ancient Passage

Stairway to the living quarters at Machu Piccu by Susan Tower

This area is thought to have been the living quarters for the people of Machu Picchu. This fine art painting was done on-site and includes visionary symbols of healing and connection. The crescent moon on the forested mountain is an ancient goddess reference of the continual cycles of the Earth and of Life itself. The forested mountainside reflects this shape and one could wonder if it once was far more pronounced. The Tan Ran reiki symbol painted on middle left means: 'Seeking Wholeness in Heart'.

As Above, So Below

As Above, So Below

 stone marker at Machu Piccu

This carved stone at Machu Piccu allows a cast shadow to complete the sacred symbol. It depicts different levels of reality, including the upper world (the higher self), the middle world (consciousness) and the lower world (unconsciousness). The tan ran reiki symbol painted into the cast shadow is ‘Tah Humm’ which vibrates to a new physical reality. Visionary artist Susan Tower painted this temple stone en plein air (on-site).

Hitching Post to the Sun

Hitching Post to the Sun

painting of Intihuatana at Machu Piccu by Susan Tower

This marker is known to be the spiritual cornerstone of Machu Picchu. As both a solstice and equinox marker, its shadow alignments reveal volumes of astronomical data. This plein air painting (done onsite) illustrates the ancient astronomical observatory whose Inkan name of Intihuatana means ‘hitching post of the sun’. This is because at the exact equinox, both spring and fall, the sun stands almost directly above the pillar creating no shadow at all, and for a moment is ‘tied’ to the rock.

Susan Tower paints at the sacred site of Machu Piccu

Susan Tower paints at the sacred site of Machu Piccu

Susan Tower paints on-site at Machu Picchu

Susan has had a compelling desire to paint the megalithic stone sites around the world for quite some time. Her spiritual guidance describes the benefit to humanity as such:

These ancient sites were built by cultures far more advanced than our 'modern' view can conceive. Our current scientists cannot explain either how they were constructed or how such 'primitive' people could have made them. What matters most is that these past peoples had technology that was in harmony with the Earth. These sites are physical links to that possibility of technology and lifestyle in harmony with Nature.

Susan is dedicated to go to these sites and paint them on location to enable you, the viewer to access these inherent solutions embedded within the stones. We are at a critical moment in history; our modern world needs solutions and encouragement. These sacred site paintings are brimming with mystery and discovery of real possibility of harmony with the Earth. Many people have felt the intended energy transferance eminating from the images. Which ones are you drawn to?

Connecting to South America is important because:

Connecting to South America is important because:

The Inca prophecies say when the eagle of the North and the condor of the South fly together, the Earth will awaken.  Both realms need each other to be free.

The age of awakening is Now. Across the planet, humanity is realizing with heart-opening clarity that we must care for our Earth to survive and that peace is fundamental to our future. This new era heralds a time when messages of heart, intuition and nature are the basis of balance and science (quantum physics). As we step forward and blend our technologies with principles of harmony with nature, we find a need to return to ancient and indigenous understandings. Native people speak with the Earth, and many secrets we need now can be revealed by opening to their teachings. Indeed, we are all native, and we are all part of Mother Nature.

Participate in the fulfillment of healing by having uplifting images from the southern realm of the Condor in your own space. See the two great birds flying together and allow the mystery of this ancient culture to filtrate your life. This spiritual art was created with the intention of being a portal of cultural exchange and to allow you as the viewer to access ancient wisdom.
