Ley Lines are energy lines which flow around and through the Earth.
Many ancient sites are built along straight line networks that stretch for dozens, even hundreds of miles. Some believe they were meant to utilize a mysterious property of Earth energy.
We may never know the full answer as to what these ancient sites were used for. However, the mysterious complexity of Ley Lines is easier to convey. Ley Lines concern sites of ceremonial and cultural interest aligned along straight lines and geometric patterns across the landscape. These straight line networks can be found throughout the world and in some cases incorporate elaborate spoked circles that include line systems within line systems. 'Ley Lines' - English name origin.Although straight lined alignments go back thousands of years the actual name Ley Lines was first introduced in England. It was noticed that many sites and villages and other places of interest whose names all ended in ley were to be found along the same straight lines. Literally hundreds of separate line systems have been uncovered and prove there was nothing accidental about the way ancient peoples sited their monuments which were often in astonishing harmony to one another, even over distances of hundreds of miles.

In different areas, other geometries can be discovered. Lines of energy travel across the surface of the planet. In some places the lines themselves are powerful, like St. Michael's line in southern England. In other places, the convergence of several lines creates access to the entire grid. Ancient people placed standing stones along these alignments of energy and power.
What were they doing? How did they know where to put the stones? One possibility is that the ancient peoples knew far more than our modern society thinks they did.

A Changed View of the Ancients.
Instead of looking closely at the few remnants of ancient civilizations, it is helpful to take a broad view and peer at their world from above. For many, the geometric perfection of the ley lines, the distances involved and the remote period of their inception creates a very different view of the ancient world and their technology. We may never know exactly how they moved the massive stone markers or used the myriad of sites in alignment, but it is clear the ancients held a masterful degree of geodetic knowledge.

The French Line Network
In France, researchers have uncovered many ley line networks that include Cathedrals and other places of interest. It is being revealed that several main constellations are reflected in the shapes made by connecting towns and ancient sites separated over hundreds of miles. Reseacher Xavier Guichard has shown that the tiny French village of Alaise (eastern France) is the center of a line system that radiates out hundreds of miles to include dozens of sites, villages and towns. The diagram below is a similar alignment centered on Paris, France.
Why or when or how are unknowns for this phenomena. It does seem conclusive that these line systems were initiated and planned thousands of years ago.
